JOB SUMMARY:
The US Patent and Trademark Office is responsible for granting US
intellectual property rights for patents and trademarks.Our
efforts have provided inventors exclusive rights over their

The US Patent and Trademark Office is looking for highly

Staff Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements, by the closing
date of the vacancy announcement. Specialized experience is
experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular
knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties
of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position
to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been
equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Applicants applying for the GS-7 grade level must have at least 52
week of specialized experience at GS-6 grade level in the Federal
Service. The applicant must possess specialized experience
identifying, analyzing and recommending improvements and/or resolving
problems to the work operations;researching, compiling and
presenting data for required administrative reports, both orally or
in writing;providing administrative advice and assistance in
administrative support functional areas (e.g., supply management,
budget, personnel administration, procurement, records and files
management, etc.); reviewing all incoming and outgoing
correspondence;maintaining various automated tracking systems and
tickler control files, as well as files that include confidential and
sensitive information; preparing travel arrangements and
authorizations; and maintaining time and attendance records.
Education may not be substituted for experience at the GS-7 level.

Probationary Period -If selected, the selectee will be required to
complete an initial one-year probationary period.
Individuals who have special priority selection rights under the
Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency
Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well-qualified
for the position to receive consideration for special priority
selection. CTAP and ICTAP eligible candidates will be considered well-
qualified if they score 90% of the total points possible.
