OSD-08-8434-KM Supervisory Management Services Specialist QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: You must possess 52 weeks of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position shown above. The creditable specialized experience is: Experience directing, planning, and executing administrative support for human resource programs. Knowledges, skills, and abilities that are needed to perform the duties of this position are: 1.Knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration and management of human resource programs for both military and civilian personnel, security, facilities management, internal controls, organizational management, and employee development. 2.Knowledge of current management analysis and studies theories, principles, and practices in order to apply them to a wide range of human resource, organizational, and administrative programs to continually evaluate their effectiveness and improve the efficiency of operations. 3.Knowledge of missions, programs, plans, goals, and objectives of OUSD(P) and the component and how they relate to other DoD and OSD organizations, programs and operations. 4.Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive analysis, reviews, and studies and preparing solutions to especially broad, important and severe management problems. This position may be filled through means other than the competitive promotion process. OSD-08-8434-KM Supervisory Management Services Specialist Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - Arlington, VA MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Serves as the Senior Administrative Officer who is responsible for directing, planning, and executing administrative support for one of the six Assistant Secretary of Defense (ASD) or ASD-equivalent Components: Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy (PDUSDP), Asian and Pacific Security Affairs (APSA), Global Security Affairs (GSA), Homeland Defense & American's Security Affairs (HD&ASA), International Security Affairs (ISA), Stability Operations/Low Intensity Conflict and Interdependent Capabilities (SO/LIC&IC). Serves as the human resources management advisor providing consultation and assistance to senior leadership on the full realm of personnel issues to include manpower, staffing, recruitment options, employee orientation, military personnel management, and special employment programs. Exercises delegated managerial authority to establish annual and long-range work plans and schedules in the areas of administration, human resource management, security and facilities. Serves as the component Paypool/Travel Research/Translations Budget Manager. Manages and provides oversight of the component Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/MDR and Security program. Serves as liaison with the Pentagon Renovation Office (PENREN) when necessary on facilities and renovation matters and ensures the component requirements are understood and met.
