General Schedule Specialized Experience: Professional knowledge of engineering sufficient to prepare drawings and specifications for construction projects and to review contractor technical requests. Knowledge of military and civil works construction. Ability to prepare and administer contract modification for unlimited dollar amounts. The incumbent must possess a thorough understanding and working knowledge of commercial available scheduling software (Primavera) and familiarity with commercial estimating programs such as PULSAR (RS Means). WTHF08457173D Civil Engineer Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - WA - Fort Lewis MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); As an Interdisciplinary Engineer, supports Area Office construction activities of Military Construction Army (MCA), Military Construction Air Force (MCAF) and Civil Works construction. Maintains and analyzes a computer-based network scheduling system for construction projects and prepares and administers contract modifications. Projects include family housing, barracks, medical clinics, administration and technical buildings, roads and streets on military installations, emergency flood mitigation and environmental restoration projects. Construction is performed under rigid completion schedules and requires a high degree of excellence. Uses engineering judgment to review contractor technical requests then prepares drawing and specification revisions for within scope contract changes. Uses commercial estimating guides to develop preliminary and final cost estimates for change order work using various sources of information for labor, material, equipment, and indirect costs.
