SWDLMC08267339DR2 Mechanical Engineer QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience applying mechanical engineering concepts, principles and practices to design, prepare layouts, determine specifications, install, inspect and test mechanical systems, mechanical equipment, and construction. SWDLMC08267339DR2 Mechanical Engineer Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - KY - Ft. Campbell MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Responsible for the design, layout, specifications, installation, inspection, and testing of mechanical equipment, mechanical systems, and construction at a hospital and medical and dental facilities. Troubleshoot mechanical systems with emphasis on Medical Gases, HVAC, steam, water systems, roofing systems, operating room controls, and Waste Anesthetic Gas for Operating Room use. Work with electrical systems as related to hospital equipment, life support equipment, and emergency generator systems. Prepare and dispatch financial documents for projects. Coordinate/review design submittals and corresponds with designer/user/project engineers as required. Design mechanical systems at medical facilities including; complete systems and component parts for projects involving new work, renovation, modification, or repair of existing mechanical installations.
