General Schedule The best qualified candidate will show the experience in the following areas: -Comprehensive and specialized knowledge of the veterinary organizational programs, duties, goals, priorities, commitments, policies, and views of the Directorate to perform non-routine assignments such as assembling, summarizing, and interpreting information from files and documents as required or in anticipation of Director's or office needs. - Knowledge of ADP processing procedures required to execute basic office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents or files, activating a printer, inserting or deleting text, printing standardized paragraphs from a glossary, producing letters or memoranda, entering data into a predefined spreadsheet or database, retrieving data from specified electronic records and transmitting and receiving electronic mail. -Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation to accurately type a variety of technical and non-technical material peculiar to the different mission areas of the Directorate. - Knowledge of travel regulations to prepare and assist in the preparation of travel requests, lodging and car rental reservations, and travel vouchers. - Knowledge of civilian timecards/automated records to accurately enter and maintain civilian time keeping data. Incumbent will work in a Headquarters Staff environment. Incumbent utilizes experienced judgment to responsibly complete difficult assignments to assure productive office administration techniques are used in managing the office. Incumbent uses independent judgment and applies available resources to complete tasks and deliver required final products in a highly efficient and effective manner. Handles the day to day management and oversight of administrative activities of the office, performing a full range of program duties to ensure smooth operation. A fully qualified typist is required.
