General Schedule SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify, applicant must possess 1 year specialized experience at the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in network administration, information technology support and providing technical guidance in software and hardware applications. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Tour of Duty: Flexible, FLSA: Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit: Yes.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.Education can be substituted for experience. MAJOR DUTIES:

Provide information technology support to include electronic mail administration and server management. Assist in implementation of hardware/software solutions. Assist contractor staff to facilitate network enhancements or repairs. Perform backup and maintenance of networked systems and locally installed telecommunications equipment and components such as file servers, routers, modems, printers, etc. Monitor LAN performance, effectiveness, memory and space utilization. Make recommendation for equipment. Backup, test and evaluate major systems. Function as organizational field representative on technical issues for assigned hub site. Troubleshoot and resolve problems from agency help desk. Resolve user problems on IT hardware components, equipment and software. Resolve application systems software integration issues. Assist in the resolution of operational and system problems of unique, or agency specific software applications. Install new hardware, software and upgrades.
