WTEV08473209D Nursing Assistant Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - AK - Ft. Wainwright MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Performs a variety of nursing care tasks involving extensive standardized procedures requiring knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments. Prepares equipment for complex examinations and procedures such as biopsies and pap smears. Performs tasks necessary to prepare patients for examinations and procedures; e.g., takes and records vital signs. Measures and records height and weight, and obtains specimens as directed for testing. Assists during and facilitates the health care provider's work. Selects, cleans and sterilizes or prepares instruments for sterilization; gathers necessary equipment and hands to health care provider. Cleans wounds and applies simple dressings. Assists with the removal of sutures and dressings. Takes simple histories on patients and records in the clinical record. Prepares requests for laboratory radiology and other diagnostic procedures. Schedules routine appointments, takes telephone messages and other administrative duties.
