Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. B. Registration: Must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, DC, Puerto Rico, or US territory. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, applicant must possess 1 year specialized experience which equipped the applicant with knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of specialized health care programs, financial resources, and MEDCOM revised financing policies. Knowledge of analytical methods and techniques to evaluate programs, conduct studies, and present written and oral presentations of findings and recommendation. Extensive knowledge of the TRICARE Program, military health care system and Medicare policies and procedures. Knowledge of medical necessity review criteria (Interqual and Milliman). Knowledge of the Managed Care Contractor's utilization management requirements. Knowledge of management principles. OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education. SCDN08371700 Supv Nurse (Consultant/Case Mgr) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - NC - Fayetteville MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Develops, recommends and implement incentives, which will improve health care benefits. Plans and implements patient, provider and community education programs based on the data analysis reports. Collaborates with other clinical practice areas (physicians, nurses, dietitians, etc.) and administrative personnel to support managed care principles and practices. Interfaces with local, state and federal agencies responsible for financing alternatives which DoD beneficiaries may be entitled to receive. Directs Discharge Planning (DP), Case Management (CM), and Utilization Review (UR). Develops, implements, and distributes specific criteria for Case Management to all hospital staff members in order to clearly delineate which referrals are for DP, CM or the responsibility of the Managed Care Contractor. Responsible for the day to day direction and mentoring of a wide variety of health care professionals and ancillary staff.
