SCDN08407877 Casualty Support Assistant (OA) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Specialized experience is demonstrated work experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Best qualified applicants for this job must show in their resume that they have experience in the following areas: (1) Extensive knowledge of and ability to apply military regulations, benefits, customs and courtesies to specific situations, (2) Skill in operating multiple computer programs, (3) Ability to work independently on recurring/regular duties.**Position requires being "On Call" evenings, weekends and holidays. SCDN08407877 Casualty Support Assistant (OA) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - NC - Fayetteville MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Upon receipt of death/casualty notice incumbent will obtain information and initiate report; Make contact with DA and report information locally; Notify appropriate personnel (i.e., mortuary affairs technician); Identify Casualty Area Command (CAC) for notification of NOK (next-of-kin); If in Fort Bragg?s CAC, identify appropriate unit/activity for tasking of notification of NOK; Receive notification of death of veterans with requests for burial honors; Arrange for/provide assistance to family members; If they do not desire a casualty assistance officer, provide necessary assistance telephonically or in person; Follow up to ensure NOK received assistance needed; Knowledge of computer programs and grammar, punctuation and spelling; Knowledge of DOD Joint Travel Regulations, Social Security and Veteran benefits, Army/DoD regulations on casualty operations, military burial honors, military personnel administration, medical records, Privacy Act, and Servicemen's Group Life Insurance.
