WTFC07355706 Victim Advocate Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Click on link below to view qualification standard. General Schedule To qualify for this position you must meet one of the following:Experience: One year specialized experience* at the YB-02, GS-07 or equivalent level. *Specialized Experience: Experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to: 1) Specialized program knowledge of social services work, counseling services, psychosocial principles and theories, and group dynamics of family and individual systems. 2)Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence. 3) Intensive practical knowledge of community resources and services, crisis intervention, and resources that individuals in distress may quickly obtain. 4) Knowledge of laws pertaining to family relationships and protection of children and adults. Is not required to have formal training in any aspects of law but must be capable of working and interacting with attorneys, court officials, police, etc. Experience with preparing court testimony and victim impact statements is helpful. 5) Knowledge of military organization, missions, life-styles, and situations which can contribute to family stress, problems and crisis situations. 6) Knowledge of the dynamics of substance abuse, particularly with regard to recognizing symptoms and understanding the impact upon family dynamics.Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Degree must be in behavioral or social science; or disciplines related to victim advocacy.A combination of experience and education.Conditions of Employment: 1) Requires shift work and 24-hour rotation to provide advocacy to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. 2) TDY will be required 10% of the time. 3) Requires valid drivers license and physical ability to operate a motor vehicle.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Your pay will be set within the range specified in this vacancy announcement and will be based on your qualification, education, experience, training, and availability of funds.Education can be substituted for experience. WTFC07355706 Victim Advocate Coordinator Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - OP - Okinawa Japan MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Screens victims of spouse abuse, evaluates their needs, and provides them with information on domestic violence prevention, safe and confidential ways to seek assistance, their rights as Army spouses, and the resources and services available to them. Assists in securing medical treatment for injuries; shelter; information on legal rights and community resources available through the Army and local community; education; transportation; support before, during and after trial; and follow-up assistance. Refers victims to other needed services, as necessary. Screens victims of sexual assault, evaluates their needs, and provides them with information on sexual assault prevention, safe and confidential ways to seek assistance, their rights as Army personnel, and the resources / services avaible. Coordinates with case managers in developing appropriate plan of assistance and intervention which provides for the safety of the victim and their families.
