General Schedule Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the candidate with professional knowledge and skills sufficient to develop and conduct an active wildlife management program; to modify or adapt standard wildlife management techniques and procedures; and to assess and apply precedents in developing wildlife management plans.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.Must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST
Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - OR - Throughout Oregon
MAJOR DUTIES:
BackToTop();
Provides technical assistance in planning/conducting wildlife management programs, including the creation/maintenance and restoration of wildlife habitat. Prepares reports to include quarterly management and expenditure, nesting box utilization, and the status of wildlife populations and habitats, of federally listed Endangered Species and Species of Concern. Plans & conducts inventories and surveys to collect basic biological information using standard sampling methods and techniques. Coordinates various wildlife management projects & activities and programs with representatives of other federal and state agencies with licenses or leases on Corps lands and waters in Willamette Valley Projects. Reviews Annual Management Plans from these agencies to ensure compatibility with the Corps. Meets with regional and field representatives to coordinate/assist in various joint management activities on Corps lands; conducts habitat evaluations; and develops mitigation plans.
