About the Position: DUTIES CONTINUED: training programs. Employee manages the installation-wide ICIDS alarm system and serves as the system administrator. Employee creates and edits access control records. Maintains a system database and program files. Responsible for coordinating installation of new systems and repairs. Employee exercises overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the installation's ECC. Employee serves as the contract officer representative (COR) for E911.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

General Schedule To qualify for the GS-9 level inservice eligibles must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Qualified applicants must show in their resume they have specialized experience in the following:
1) Experience of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices used in conducting inspections and surveys, conducting classroom training, evaluating reports of investigations, preparing recommendations, and providing assistance and advice on physical security/crime prevention matters as well as knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures, pertaining to physical security and crime prevention.
2) Inspect, evaluate, and analyze physical security environments.
3) Read and review blueprints and contract specifications to ensure conformance to security requirements, and knowledge of a variety of state-of-the-art security equipment and devices in order to plan and implement protective methods and security procedures.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.Education can be substituted for experience. Review the qualification requirements for specific information.One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade or level requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled.Ability to communicate orally and in writing.GS-09: One year of experience directly related to the occupation equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; or equivalent combinations of experience and education.

Employee helps administer and maintain the installation physical security program and aids in developing and coordinating installation physical security policies, regulations, and procedures. Employee advises the DES, commanders, and staff members regarding the formulation and administration of security plans and helps prepare and update the installation physical security plan. Provides technical planning for and oversees the operations of Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection Systems (ICIDS), and monitors the installation and maintenance of commercial lease Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Conducts announced/unannounced physical security inspections and surveys. Conducts entrance and exit briefings for elements inspected. Prepares briefings for out-briefs. Prepares written narrative reports. Investigates security violations when required. Researches new methods of protection and physical security technological developments/requirements. Organizes and conducts physical security
