Trades and Labor Skills and Knowledge: the operation of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight up to 10,000 pounds and the proper handling controls. Basic knowledge of the functions and organizational structures of serviced units and with knowledge of mail processing and control procedures. Knowledge of functions performed within the subordinate elements in order to properly sort based on incomplete address. Knowledge of postal equipment to include metering devices and related components (for example, meter heads, meter base, and scales) and the ability to maintain and operate such equipment. Knowledge of procedures and regulations for the control and processing of various types of mail (for example, registered, certified, insured, express, classified).The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Experience and training that furnish the knowledges, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade. EUHM07455998 Motor Vehicle Operator(Postal Operations/Finance Clerk) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - OA - Heidelberg, Stuttgart & Southern Germany MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator (Postal Operations/Finance Clerk) at the United States Army Garrison (USAG) Heidelberg Community Mail Room (CMR). You will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and distributing mail to the customers. You will re-direct mail that is improperly addressed and forward mail to personnel who are no longer serviced by the CMR. You will relay daily messages and update records as information is provided by mail managers. Maintain high knowledge of postal regulations in order perform duties and assist customers by providing postal information. You will operate a customer service window during the scheduled hours of operation, which may include evening, weekend and holiday hours. You will break down and sort mail, date stamp packages and issue notices that packages need to be picked up, and separate mail for re-direct service by utilizing postal regulation. You will utilize a web-based program for directory service.
