General Schedule SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year specialized experience at the GS-09 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience inspecting and testing designated aircraft equipment/products for quality and accuracy, and assisting with contract administration, production or property administration. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Tour of Duty: Flexible, FLSA: Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit: Yes. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In addition to work performed at the desk, the work regularly requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending or climbing while observing manufacturing operations, witnessing tests or examining material, identifying, understanding, proofing, measuring, and analyzing processes to effect continuous process/quality improvement. This position involves working in an aircraft facility environment, therefore, climbing into and onto aircraft, up and down maintenance stands (from 9-30 ft high), and working at times in inclement weather and noisy conditions are required. **WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work regularly involves visits to manufacturing and test areas requiring use of protective gear such as safety glasses, ear protection, hardhat and observance of appropriate safety precautions.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.Education can be substituted for experience. SWH808442751 Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - TX - Waco MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Serves as Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) on manufacturing assurance matters at a facility involving major special operational aircraft programs, where the contractors are performing overall and major modifications on both rotary and fix wing aircraft and aircraft components, and/or standard depot level maintenance, programmed depot maintenance, or aircraft condition inspections. Responsible for assuring support/coverage of ongoing activities within the assigned facilities for resolution of quality assurance problems and matters relating to aircraft overhaul, maintenance, and modification of aircraft and aircraft components on aircraft programs. Performs risk assessment and assigns risk ratings to quality systems and key processes. Develops plans for Quality System Evaluations of supplier quality systems to establish compliance with higher-level quality contract requirements. Perform Quality System Evaluations of supplier quality systems.
