TSA-DAY-2008-0001 Master Transportation Security Officer - (STI) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: For the SV-F pay band, applicants may qualify if they meet the requirements listed below: At least one year of experience functioning as a Transportation Security Officer equivalent to at least the D band level or above.PLUSOne year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the D band or above which included teaching or training adults and utilizing instructional methods in a classroom or laboratory setting. This experience may have been gained as a TSA Approved Instructor or in any other traning/educational setting where instructional methods were utilized to teach/train adults. Candidates must meet the qualification requirements for this position no later than the closing date of the vacancy announcement. HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: BackToTop(); You will be asked a series of occupational assessment questions linked to the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies determined necessary for successful job performance. TSA-DAY-2008-0001 Master Transportation Security Officer - (STI) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - Dayton, OH MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); The Master Transportation Security Officer (MTSO)- Security Training Instructor (STI), will support the airport training program through performance of a variety of training-related functions.In addition to training program responsibilities, the STI must also perform pre-board security screening of persons, cargo carry-on and/or checked baggage as directed by the Federal Security Director (FSD) or his/her designee a minimum of 20% of the time. Specific program responsibilities include the following: Performs training instruction within established guidelines and standards in support of nationally developed training programs (e.g., new hire training, On-Screen Alarm Resolution Protocol, Crossover); supports recurrent training needs, conducts return to duty and remediation training.Adapts/develops local training materials to meet requirements and conducts local training in accordance with training standards; assists with the training department administrative support (e.g, Online Learning Center (OLC) entry, training resource room facilitation, roster management, conducting testing, ensuring evaluations are done); assists with training logistics support components (e.g.coordinating needed supplies and materials); manages classroom dynamics, resolves routine classroom problems; monitors and evaluates training and provides feedback on needed adjustments and recommends enhancements; maintains communication with management and supervisors concerning issues with training that may reveal security-screening weaknesses or vulnerabilities.As directed, provides mentoring/coaching to address identified training needs.Administers and scores training tests (e.g., job knowledge, image).May assists with PASS Practical Skills Observations (PSOs) and conducts level 3 assessments.NOTE: Employees must maintain all screening certification requirements and perform screening functions (passenger, baggage, or both) a minimum of 20% of the time.
