PROGRAM SPECIALIST (CREDENTIALING)
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
One or more years of specialized work experience that include managing, planning, developing, organizing, and controlling the administrative operation of a medical staff services to meet mission and goals of an organization and in order to meet the requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies for credentialing and privileging. This experience must be equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service.
OR
Three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of program specialist performing credentialing duties (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
OR
A combination of education (as described above) and specialized experience (as described above

Major duties and responsibilities include:

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the functions of the Dependent Credentialing Program as the nursing services administrator and manager and serves as the Senior dependent Credentialer and thus the final reviewer of all VetPro applications as well as, which includes establishing and enforcing local standards operating procedures, providing and facilitating training, maintaining records, conducting analysis, developing reports and presentations.S/he communicates the specifics of the overall credentialing programs; creates and implements solutions to identified problems; discuss actionable events or other program issues under scrutiny as well as ensure deadlines and time frames are in compliance to established standards.S/he monitors workload and provides guidance and makes recommendations on workload issues; makes adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities, deadlines and staffing needs.Incumbent performs other related duties as assigned.
