VG-MB-167240 PATIENT SERVICES ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: One or more years of work experience in the secretarial or administrative field, with regards to outpatient and inpatient services in a major medical center or nursing home. This experience must have been gained at the equivalent of the GS-4 level. OR Four (4) years of education above high school leading to a degree OR Bachelor's degree OR A combination of experience and education as described above. VG-MB-167240 PATIENT SERVICES ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) Additional Duty Location Info:02 vacancies - Tuscaloosa, AL MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Major duties and responsibilities include: The employee serves as a Patient Services Assistant for Mental Health Service Line at the Tuscaloosa Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center.S/he acts in the capacity of liaison between patients and the primary care providers, as well as other practice groups, specialty services and ancillary service.S/he serves as receptionist to patients, families, employees in the Mental Health area; ensures patients are comfortable and treated courteously, enthusiastically and timely.S/he is expected to function as an advocate of the veteran providing assistance and guidance in an effective and respectful manner.
