General Schedule BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: For consideration, your resume must include the type of degree (e.g., bachelors degree) and whether you have at least 24 semester hours in any combination of accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management fields. Candidates who do not provide this information will not be referred. Note: Civilian personnel currently in DoD, who occupied a GS-1102 position or a contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000, are excluded from these qualification requirements. ? SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, applicants must possess 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience using contract administration principles, policies, and procedures; experience with negotiation techniques to act on a variety of pricing agreements; and experience monitoring contractor's costs and evaluating the progress and performance of contracts. ? DEFENSE ACQUISITION WORKFORCE IMPROVEMENT ACT CAREER FIELD POSITION (DAWIA) CERTIFICATION: This is an Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification in CONTRACTING at Level III in Contracting within 24 months of entrance on duty. MAJOR DUTIES:

Serves as a Divisional Administrative Contracting Officer for a sector of a very large defense oriented contractor having many divisions and plants in numerous locations. Serves as the Department of Defense liaison with contractors sector management with responsibility for promoting effectiveness and consistency in the performance of contract administrative services. Responsible for complex contract administration actions having sector-wide impact. Evaluates and negotiates sector policies and expenses pertaining to government contracts. Provides information to the Corporate Administrative Contracting Officer, Administrative Contracting Officers and the Procuring Contracting Officers dealing with the sector throughout the country. Serves as focal point for Defense Contract Administration Service (DCAS) liaison with sector management at the group and division level. Gives technical guidance when decision making on highly complex and technical areas involves more than one DCAS office.
