KB-RG-167071 Civilian Pay Technician QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: GS-6:Candidates must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Civilian Pay Technician. Examples of qualifying specialized experience are: Experience that may have been gained as a payroll technician, accounting technician or other related work that required knowledge of an extensive body of standard pay rules and regulations; providing administrative and technical payroll support for an office, medical office, clinic, or hospital; experience with data entry; utilizing office automation procedures and equipment to prepare correspondence and generate reports; utilizing basic mathematic procedures/computations; and interpreting and following regulations, rules, procedures, policies and guidelines. KB-RG-167071 Civilian Pay Technician Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - Indianapolis Metro area, IN MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Tour of Duty:Monday-Friday, Full-Time, 8:00am-4:30pm Major duties and responsibilities include: This position is located in the Human Resources Management Service / Payroll Section at the VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. You will perform duties under the pay system as a Customer Service Representative (CRS). Duties include, but not limited to the following: 愛eceives and examines complex payroll authorization documents (e.g., leave authorization forms, saving bonds and allotments, employee organization deductions, etc.), makes computations, and prepares proper forms for the pay of the full variety of civilian positions (e.g., doctors and nurses under Title 38, Police Officers, etc.). 嫂udits pay and leave accounts to identify and correct delinquent and/or erroneous personnel actions or timekeeping errors. 愛eviews time and attendance reports for a diversified time and leave unit consisting of approximately 350 employees. 感erforms all timekeeping functions relating to the Patient Care Services consisting of approximately 100 employees. 感rovides customer service in person or by telephone, and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to employee pay. 感erforms miscellaneous duties in support of the payroll function. 感repares written correspondence and other documentation. ***RELOCATION EXPENSES AND/OR INCENTIVES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED***
