NCFV07470964 Engineering Tech (Civil) Additional Duty Location Info:1 vacancy - VA - Winchester MAJOR DUTIES: BackToTop(); Develops and reviews detailed construction cost estimates (preliminary, pre-final, final, and post-final) for competitive bidding on a variety of construction projects or various geographic locations, with different climatic conditions and land characteristics as well as different country specific conditions effecting labor and management. Reviews construction drawings to assure that construction details shown are sufficient to provide a clear and full picture to the contractor. Participates in contract negotiations as cost representative member of team. Performs Value Engineering studies to achieve essential characteristics of project at minimum costs. Initiates and maintains person-to-person work relationships with chiefs of other branches of Engineering, Construction, Procurement and Supply Division and Office of Counsel in coordinating flow of work, checking data, solving problems concerning cost meeting deadlines and work schedules. Provides technical details and assistance.
