QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

General Schedule To qualify for GS-04 level applicant must have 1 year of General Experience. General Experience is clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. For example: 1. Established knowledge of transportation or traffic management rules to perform a full range of transportation support duties. 2. Related functional areas to investigate and resolve recurring problems, coordinate actions, or expedite receipt of needed documentation using established approaches. The incumbent uses initiative to perform recurring assignments, referring situations not covered by initial instructions or precedents to the supervisor for assistance. The work involves performing one or more transportation support functions that require the use of different and unrelated procedures and methods. Assignments received are relatively broad and varied and work methods are not completely standardized. The purpose of the work is to perform limited, repetitive, or closely related tasks that are designed to facilitate the work of higher graded employees by relieving them of some of the more procedural aspects of their work. The employee works primarily in an office setting involving everyday risks or discomforts.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience. MAJOR DUTIES:

Serve as a transportation clerk with the responsibility for reviewing a variety of personal property documentation for procedural accuracy and completeness. Check routing requests, discrepancy reports, government bills of lading (GBLs), commercial bills of lading (CBLs) and transportation control and movement. Responsible for providing travel services and arranging travel accommodations for organization personnel and processes travel requests including temporary duty and permanent change of station (PCS), and temporary duty (TDY) orders for personnel traveling within the United States or overseas. Interface and advise traveler of any travel restrictions or allowances according to federal travel regulations and practices. Creates and develops spreadsheets, copies, edits, manipulates, stores, retrieves, and prints a variety of correspondence, reports, and documents using office automation functions and equipment.
