About the Position: The U.S. Garrison Presidio of Monterey provides base operations services to the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and several other tenant activities. The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) is the worlds largest foreign language institute. The mission of the DLIFLC is to educate, sustain, evaluate, and support foreign language specialists under the guidelines of the Defense Foreign Language Program, which provides the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies with linguists fully capable of supporting United States national interests worldwide. To accomplish its four primary mission area and ensure that our military forces are prepared to meet global foreign language requirements, the DLIFLC remains flexible and responsive to the changing world order and on the cutting edge of technological innovations in foreign language education for the twenty-first century.

Must be skilled in reviewing and monitoring personnel records/actions/correspondences and initiating corrective and follow-up actions as required.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Education can be substituted for experience. MAJOR DUTIES:

Prepares personnel for PCS reassignment or intra-station reassignments; creates and maintains reassignment folders, processing reassignment notices querying the appropriate IT support system including such systems as TOPMIS, EDAS and SIDPERS-3. Examine personnel records to determine eligibility for Foreign Language Proficiency Pay (FLPP). Process actions to include name changes, regimental affiliation actions, applications for Joint Domicile and applications for enrollment in the Married Army Couples Program. Responsible for administering the military separation and transition program. Conduct individual and group interviews and briefings to separating personnel and family members. Responsible for maintenance of files in the officer and enlisted records sections. Prepares and assembles promotion packets for centralized promotion boards. Provide counsel and guidance for processing commander's inquiries and the evaluation appeals process. Provide technical guidance and assistance.
